Jury Services

The jury process is an important and vital process to the courts function. Jury duty is a responsibility that all qualified citizens must share and as the final check and balance on the American system of government.

Juror Expectations

For reporting date and time, visit ejury.gwinnettcounty.com or call 770-822-7170 the Saturday or Sunday prior to your week of jury service printed on your jury summons and everyday thereafter for the remainder of the week. Report at date and time given on the recording or website. You will be checked-in and given an orientation on the juror process and what will be expected of you. You will receive jury pay for the days you are requested to physically attend jury duty.

Proper Attire For Court

If you are appearing for Court/Jury Duty, you should dress in a manner that shows respect for the Court. Please do not wear strong perfumes or colognes.

Security & Electronic Devices

Upon arriving at the courthouse, you will be required to go through security screening. Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives) are prohibited.

All cell phones and other electronic devices must be turned off upon entering a courtroom.

Our Jury Assembly Room is equipped with wireless network that is available for jurors. Cell phones, personal electronic equipment, etc. are allowed in the Jury Assembly Room.

Qualifications to Serve as a Juror

In order to reduce wait times when you arrive for jury duty, Jury Administration would like to be sure you meet the minimum qualifications ahead of time to serve as a juror. If you do NOT meet any one of these qualifications, please notify Jury Administration for assistance ASAP by e-mail (jurorinfo@gwinnettcounty.com) or phone (770-822-7170).

Granting Exemptions

Under Georgia State Law, exemptions are granted to the following properly documented persons:

Exemption Forms

Exemption forms are located on ejury.gwinnettcounty.com

Once the exemption form is completed and notarized, you can email the form by scanning it (pdf format) or by taking picture and e-mailing it to: jurorinfo@gwinnettcounty.com. The notary stamp must be visible.

Postponements

Jurors can request an one-time postponement. A postponement request must be made no later than seven days prior to your service date. All postponements are granted or denied under the discretion of the court.

The postponement time frame is no later than 90 days from your original service date.
